The aim of this competition is to connect the key links of "government, industry, academia, research and application" through in-depth collaboration among the government, alliances and enterprises, so as to promote the integrated and innovative development of the entire industrial chain of construction robots. Ho On-shing, Chairman of the Hong Kong Construction Industry Council (CIC), Lau Chun-kit, Permanent Secretary for Development of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government, and Zhou Wei, First-class Inspector of the Department of Housing and Urban-Rural Development of Guangdong Province, attended the event and delivered speeches.
In the fierce practical competition, Fontan's spraying robot P320 Max became the focus of the audience with its efficient operation performance and high-quality delivery, and its spraying efficiency and coating quality were unanimously praised by the judges.
P320 Max is equipped with a 6-axis high-precision robotic arm and intelligent algorithms, along with a self-developed four-wheel all-wheel steering wheel chassis. It can smoothly achieve 360-degree instant steering, increasing the latex paint spraying efficiency to over 250 square meters per hour, which is twice that of manual spray guns. For putty spraying, its efficiency reaches 600-800 square meters per day, 6-8 times higher than manual spraying. Additionally, the per capita work efficiency is tripled, significantly shortening the construction period and reducing labor cost input.
Besides being highly efficient, P320 Max also performs excellently in ensuring high-quality delivery. The product supports one-click import of CAD drawings and BIM models, can automatically model on-site, and automatically plan the optimal operation path. Relying on self-developed core technologies such as indoor navigation, positioning, and motion control, it can realize one-click fully automatic spraying operations, ensuring uniform coating without color difference and achieving high-quality delivery.
It is worth noting that Fontan Robotics has previously received significant support from the Construction Innovation and Technology Fund of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. Fontan's spraying robots (3.2m and 4.6m models) and putty grinding robots have successfully been included in the pre-approval list of the fund, with pre-approval numbers PA25-088 and PA25-089. This means that when construction enterprises in Hong Kong purchase these three types of robots, they can enjoy a fund subsidy of up to 70%, which will significantly reduce the enterprises' procurement costs and create extremely favorable conditions for them to introduce advanced intelligent equipment and improve construction efficiency and quality.
Winning the "Efficiency Star" award this time, coupled with the support from the Construction Innovation and Technology Fund of Hong Kong, has further strengthened Fontan's determination to deepen its efforts and move forward in the field of construction robots. With the mission of achieving success for global customers through intelligent construction, Fontan Robotics will continue to focus on technological research and development as well as innovative applications, bringing more efficient and high-quality products and solutions to the global construction industry, and helping the construction industry step into a new stage of green and intelligent development.
