On May 23, the 2025 Smart Construction China Tour · Xinjiang Stop officially kicked off in Urumqi. Hosted by the Vocational and Adult Education Committee of China Construction Education Association, undertaken by Xinjiang Institute of Construction Vocational Technology, and co-organized by Hangzhou Fulltime Robotics Co., Ltd., Xinjiang Construction Industry-Education Integration Community, and Smart Construction & Intelligent Construction Industry-Education Integration Community.        


       


Nearly 200 participants attended the event, including Wang Fengjun, Deputy Director and Director of the Vocational and Adult Education Committee of China Construction Education Association; Ding Lijun, Deputy Director of the Construction Market Supervision Department of the Autonomous Region's Housing and Urban-Rural Development Department; Kong Xianghua, Wu Chenglin, Wu Guanglin, Cheng Chaosheng, Deputy Directors of the Vocational and Adult Education Committee; Zhao Yan, Secretary-General; Dang Jin, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and President of Xinjiang Institute of Construction Vocational Technology; Yan Baoran, Deputy General Manager of Xinjiang Urban Construction Group; Chen Han, Deputy Director of Urumqi Housing and Urban-Rural Development Bureau; Li Zike, Founder and CEO of Hangzhou Fulltime Robotics Co., Ltd.; Lei Jianping, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Inner Mongolia Technical College of Construction; Liu Xin, President of Tacheng Vocational and Technical College; as well as representatives from various colleges, enterprises, and teachers and students of Xinjiang Institute of Construction Vocational Technology.


       


Dang Jin, President of Xinjiang Institute of Construction Vocational Technology: On behalf of the host unit, he welcomed guests and representatives from various regions. He stated that facing the new situation and requirements of industry development, as the only construction-focused higher vocational college in Xinjiang, the institute will always take "serving national strategies and empowering regional economic development" as its mission, deepen industry-education integration, strengthen professional construction, expand exchanges and cooperation, focus on the transformation and upgrading of the construction industry, fully align with the development trends of industrialization, greenization, and digitization in the construction industry, actively play a role in cultivating high-quality skilled talents, and work with all sectors to build a highland for smart construction talent cultivation and a hub for technological transformation.


         
Ding Lijun, Deputy Director: In his opening speech, he pointed out that 2025 is the final year of the "14th Five-Year Plan" and a critical year for smart construction to move from pilot promotion to comprehensive application. As the core area of the "Belt and Road Initiative," Xinjiang is fully promoting the innovative development of the smart construction industry chain with Urumqi as the national pilot city. The Autonomous Region's Housing and Urban-Rural Development Department will seize opportunities, actively integrate into the national "Belt and Road Initiative" construction, and strive to make Xinjiang a highland and application demonstration zone for smart construction technologies. Through strengthening cooperation with universities and advanced enterprises, it will introduce and cultivate a group of high-end talents in the field of smart construction, build a number of demonstration smart construction projects, promote the transformation and upgrading of the traditional construction industry, improve construction efficiency and quality, and promote green sustainable development.


       


Wang Fengjun, Director: In his important speech, he pointed out that smart construction, as a key part of the transformation and upgrading of China's housing and construction industry, plays a crucial supporting role in the innovative development of the construction industry, urban renewal, and the construction of a new industrial system. Smart construction has put forward new requirements, opportunities, and challenges for the development of industry enterprises and vocational colleges. As a national industry organization in the field of construction education, China Construction Education Association has always taken "industry-education collaboration" as its core task, actively uniting colleges, enterprises, and scientific research institutions to build a "government-industry-enterprise-college" four-party 联动 (joint) education mechanism. He hopes that all representatives will take this event as an opportunity to feel the pulse of the industry, open up channels for communication, find points of synergy, ignite innovation enthusiasm, achieve collaborative innovation, and work together to gather strength and tackle key problems for the development of the new smart construction business form.


       
Xinjiang Institute of Construction Vocational Technology, Xinjiang Urban Construction (Group) Co., Ltd., and Hangzhou Fulltime Robotics Co., Ltd. signed a school-enterprise cooperation agreement on-site based on their core advantages in talent training, engineering practice, smart construction technology products, and other fields. Aiming to cultivate high-quality technical and skilled talents meeting the needs of Xinjiang's smart construction projects and guided by promoting the application of smart construction technologies and industrial upgrading, the three parties will establish a long-term, stable, and collaborative development partnership adhering to the principle of "cooperative progress, resource sharing, and mutual benefit," and work together to build an innovative cooperation model of "industry-academia-research" deep integration.


         

The event invited Liu Ge, Dean of the Graduate School of Tianjin Chengjian University; Li Zike, CEO of Fulltime Robotics; Zhang Juhong, Professor of Xinjiang Institute of Construction Vocational Technology; and Zhao Yan, Secretary-General of the Vocational and Adult Education Committee, to deliver special reports titled Interpretation of the Development Status of Smart Construction Pilot Cities, Application of Construction Robots at Home and Abroad, Organizational Innovation, and Talent Training, Construction and Operation Mechanism of Productive Training Bases of Xinjiang Institute of Construction Vocational Technology, and Serving Industry Transformation, Inheriting and Innovating Development – Reconsideration on the Cultivation of Smart Construction Technology Professionals, respectively.
The reports deeply analyzed and comprehensively interpreted the development background of smart construction and policy interpretation of pilot cities; the development overview of smart construction disciplines in undergraduate colleges; the technical system, technical advantages, construction process, and organizational management mode of construction robots; the construction of smart construction teaching and training platforms in colleges, exploration of in-depth industry-academia-research teaching models, and sharing of productive training teaching experience; as well as the background, core positioning, professional element analysis, and innovative construction of teaching resources and platforms for smart construction technology majors.
With both theoretical depth and practical background, the reports enabled participants to have a clearer understanding of the significance of smart construction, the professional talent needs of industry enterprises, the current situation and trends of building intelligence and robot development, as well as the key nodes and countermeasures for cultivating smart construction technology professionals at the present stage, which is of positive significance for further unblocking the channels of in-depth school-enterprise integration and achieving deep industry-education integration.


       


During the event, representatives visited the robot construction project of the new dormitory building of Xinjiang Institute of Construction Vocational Technology, undertaken by relevant enterprises of China State Construction Engineering Corporation, which applied advanced design and construction technologies. Taking this project as an engineering carrier, Xinjiang Institute of Construction Vocational Technology formed a cooperation team composed of enterprises, teachers, and students to undertake the robot construction task of indoor painting engineering. This innovative model of closely combining training teaching with engineering practice has achieved the educational goals of integrating teaching with engineering, classrooms with construction sites, teachers with engineers, and students with employees, and has carried out pioneering practices in creating real-scene education, team collaborative education, and integrating curriculum ideology and politics, with positive promotion value.


       


At the new dormitory building project site, Fulltime Robotics' robots attracted widespread attention from participants with their compact body and high-efficiency operation capabilities. The robot construction comprehensively applied technologies such as 3D point cloud, high-precision laser positioning, and high-precision servo control, with a daily work efficiency of 800-1000 m², increasing construction efficiency by 8-10 times. The standardized process control and stable and reliable construction quality left a deep impression on everyone.  




         

Since its launch in 2021, the "Smart Construction China Tour 2025" has visited 8 provinces and cities across the country, gathering nearly 3,000 construction industry practitioners, educators, and young students. Taking this event as an opportunity, all main bodies of industry-academia-research will take collaborative innovation as a link to effectively assist in the cultivation of smart construction talents in Xinjiang, form a full-chain collaborative development model of technological R&D, achievement transformation, and application promotion, and inject new momentum into the high-quality development of Xinjiang's smart construction industry.
